What is my Trajectory?

NeoFlyingA few months ago, I pulled the trigger on a new phase of my life. Some might call it van life or perpetual traveler or perhaps my version of walkabout or vision quest. Regardless of the label, I took direct action in stepping outside my comfort zone in a big way on a journey into deep unknowns. (See recent posts on rites of passage that we have abandoned in western cultures as well as my van life journey so far.)

I’m referring to the unknowns I will encounter within myself. Truly, those are the ones we let stop us from following our higher-self guidance, from releasing false obligation, and from growing into something greater. The external fears or resistance we encounter in outer life are reflections of our inner dynamic.

Another milestone for me was Jessica Alstrom’s Quantum Revolution Tour (QRT) event held in Kansas City two weeks ago. It was ground-breaking and impactful on a personal level for many if not all of us who attended. And I keep hearing of the integration that so many of us are experiencing following the event.

For me, the QRT event has given me impetus to take my next step into my unknowns. Into actively participating in helping our world awaken, with a focus on awakening the Divine Masculine. Here we go…

Recollection of a Soul Agreement

Over the past week, I’ve been preparing to go to New York City. As many of you know, I was a member of the Heaven’s Gate cult for 18 years from 1975 till 1993. A couple of months ago, I was contacted by an internet video news documentary company (part of People Magazine) doing a series on cults. They were planning an episode on the Heaven’s Gate cult and were aware of my participation in the ten-episode Heaven’s Gate podcast done in 2017. After some phone conversations with several producers, I decided to participate.

As part of my preparation, in addition to pre-camera interviews, they asked me to bring correspondence between my family and me during the time I was in the cult, as well as photographs of me pre-, during, and post-cult. I dug out and reviewed physical photographs and correspondence from years past that my parents had kept from the time I had been in the cult.

As I reviewed the photos, I reflected on the emotional journey my parents had gone through over the years of very little contact with me when I was in the cult. I also reflected on my own mental and emotional journey as a child and mused on what had set the stage for my joining the cult.

Undimming Our Light

CandleShieldedByWomanI first wrote this post a while ago, and I’m sharing it now because it has come up often recently, and now is such a time of change. A couple of months ago, someone asked me these questions (paraphrasing):

Is it normal for certain people in your life to feed off your light and potential, yet see your potential, and express impatience for you to achieve your goals, but also play a part in pushing you into previous negative patterns?

Can those we love be the biggest catalyst in our growth?

Yes, there’s no question: Those we love are most often our biggest catalysts for growth!

These questions could describe a wound-mate relationship (as opposed to a soul-mate relationship). Wound-mates can be spouses, parents, children, friends, co-workers, etc., and so can soul-mates.

What is a wound-mate relationship? A wound-mate relationship is one in which each partner, generally without trying whatsoever, brings to the surface in the other person whatever core wounds each took on in the first seven years of life. The four main core wounds are: not being seen, not being heard, not feeling loved or lovable, and not feeling nurtured or feeling over-nurtured (thus not feeling safe).

Inner Compass

CompassThis post is a different mode of expression from others recently. It’s an original poem that expresses in broad strokes my journey out of dark night back to inner-guided life.

Inner Compass

To light my way in journey out of night,
Such gifted guides illumined bright my sight,
To show that not another’s mind or part—
But only mine, the knowing of my heart—
Could ever bring tranquility or rest
To such deep yearnings held within my chest.

Our Higher Selves Are Forcing Us to Face Our Shadows

Today I will live in the moment... unless the moment is unpleasant, in which case I will eat a cookie.Someone presented this cartoon recently on one of my favorite groups. Aside from what kind of cookies we all liked to “medicate” with, our dialog went like this…

Me: That hasn’t been working for me lately. The moments I’ve been resisting or medicating in some way… they come back anyway. Higher self seems to be forcing us now to deal with the stuff we’ve been resisting all our lives (and past lives as well?).

Me: So my new commitment, in addition to remembering my joy, is to be willing to sit in the discomfort of the moment to hear the message that it’s here to bring me about myself.

Friend: What do you mean, “sit in the discomfort of the moment”?
